Prerequisites

You must only install MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.2 Hotfix 1 on the following version of MIMEsweeper for SMTP:


Warning: Before installing this Hotfix, you must ensure that:
  • You are using the correct version of MIMEsweeper for SMTP.
  • The Initial Policy Wizard has been run and completed.

Installing the Hotfix

Before installing this Hotfix, you must read the Prerequisites section of this ReadMe.

 

Note: The Infrastructure service must be running during installation of this Hotfix.

This Hotfix must be installed on the following MIMEsweeper servers:

  • All Policy Servers.
  • All servers that have Client Tools installed; that is, servers that can run the MIMEsweeper Policy Editor.

To install MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.2 Hotfix 1:

  1. Close all MIMEsweeper Policy Editors and MIMEsweeper Managers.
  2. Disable all anti-virus tools on the MIMEsweeper machine.
  3. Run SMTP524HotFix.exe and follow the instructions.
  4. Re-enable the anti-virus tools on the MIMEsweeper machine.

 

Note:
  • To complete installation, you may be requested to Restart the MIMEsweeper system.
  • If the installer experiences problems, it will roll back to the version that was installed on your MIMEsweeper machine before MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.2 Hotfix 1 was installed.

If you experience problems installing this Hotfix, please contact your normal support provider.

Removing the Hotfix

If you experience problems after installing MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.2 Hotfix 1, you can remove the Hotfix.

To remove MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.2 Hotfix 1:

  1. Close all MIMEsweeper Policy Editors and MIMEsweeper Managers.
  2. Disable all anti-virus tools on the MIMEsweeper machine.
  3. Navigate to the backup folder. By default, the backup folder is C:\Program Files\Clearswift\MIMEsweeper for SMTP\Program\MIMEsweeper for SMTP v5.2.4.0.
  4. Run rollback.exe and follow the instructions to roll back the Hotfix changes.
  5. Re-enable the anti-virus tools on the MIMEsweeper machine.

Note: To complete removal, you may be requested to Restart the MIMEsweeper system.
